AXOR has signed a contract to build the first pasta factory in Chad
Alapala Group has announced that its subsidiary AXOR has signed an agreement with MENA Food Chad to build the first pasta factory in Chad. This initiative will play a key role in improving the country’s food security and economic growth.
The new state-of-the-art facility, which is expected to be operational by mid-2025, will have a production capacity of 2,000 kilograms per hour.
This significant milestone will mark Chad’s entry into large-scale pasta production, making the company the only supplier of locally produced pasta in the country.
“We are delighted to be working with MENA Food Chad on this landmark project,” said Marco Mistroni, CEO of AXOR. “This factory will not only ensure the availability of high quality pasta products for the people of Chad and neighbouring regions, but will also stimulate local economic growth and employment. “Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and designed to meet international food safety standards, the factory is expected to create numerous jobs, stimulate local economic activity and significantly enhance Chad’s food processing capabilities”.
The project is in line with Alapala Group’s broader strategy to expand its presence in Africa and underlines the company’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that support sustainable development in the global food industry.
Construction is expected to begin in 2024, with the factory fully operational by mid-2025, marking a significant step forward in Chad’s journey towards food self-sufficiency.
